Welcome
to Bring Stuff - Meet-ups and social events with a Fancy Dress theme
Do you like doing something a little different? Do you like
fancy dress parties, random events and meeting new people in London? Then you should come to a Bring Stuff party.
Each party will be based around you 'bringing' something to the event such as a Fancy Dress, root vegetables or even a
hat. The 'stuff' you bring makes it easy to identify each other and might even encourage conversation - like 'What the hell is that you're wearing?'. What can be funnier then picking a venue, picking a theme and then partying hard?
We want to meet people who like dressing up, making costumes, dance badly and have fun. Think of us as a Fancy Dress club without membership cards. We plan something every two months, with a different theme each time.
We pick a venue We
pick a theme We prepare some games You turn
up and party with us!

If
you're into MySpace,
Facebook or
Google, come
and say hello so we can invite you to the next party: (We
prefer Facebook!)

Bring Stuff: Bring Black and White Masked Ball
Saturday 31st May 2008, 7.00pm - 3.00am
Ruby Blue, Leicester Place, Leicester Square (tube)
It's Bring Stuff's first anniversary and to celebrate we are having a party at Ruby Blue's in Leicester Square. More then that, it's a triple birthday celebration for Katy, Lis and Vee!
The theme is Black & White Masked Ball, so if you have a dinner jacket, posh black frock and a homemade mask then this is the perfect opportunity to wear it. Come as French mime artist, a black and white clown, Jack Black, Snow White, Cruella Devil or Charlie Chaplin. But don't forget to wear a mask until the midnight unmasking ceremony!
As Katy is now back from her sabbatical we have arranged a few games. When you arrive, try and work out who is Giacomo and Katy to put your names down for them. As usual, there's a prize for 'Best Home-Made Mask' so break out that macaroni and paper mache and get doodling!
Entrance is free before 10:00pm and Ruby Blue charge £10:00 after. To ensure Guestlist no-queuing on arrival at the door, be dressed in the theme and if questioned for the guestlist name, use; 'katy', 'lis' or 'vanessa'.
The lovely people at Ruby Blue ask us to remind you that you are aware of the following door policies; the music is Pop, Chart & Party and I.D. will be required if requested, otherwise admission may be refused. Over 21's only too, sorry young uns.

Stuff: Bring Hats and Wigs
Saturday 17th November 2007, 7.00pm - 3.00am
The O'bar, Wardour Street
Giacomo and Katy invite you to an evening of Millinery and Perukes (Hats and Wigs to you). School caps, Village People headwear or make something that will dazzle and impress people - anything that can be worn on the head goes! Of course if you want to come in full costume, that would be awesome too.
Hooking up with Team Nice to celebrate the launch of their third Niceties Tokens and first year birthday party (aww!), we are throwing a joint shindig in The O-bar, Soho.
The aim of Team Nice and the Niceties-token campaign is to make people be a bit nicer to each other; there is no fixed expectation or measurable end result. In the words of the '90's techno god Scooter 'It's nice be to important but it's more important to be nice'. Bauwow-zoop-zoop-zoop.
http://www.team-nice.co.uk
With some live music from Sherbert Didds and the amazing Karauke and activities - we strongly recommend you bring a digital camera (or someone attached to one) as it will be required for some of the activities. There will be instruction sheets that direct a photograph of a scene, an event or a feeling. We're hoping everyone will be really nice to each other and share the hats and wigs they have brung to make these photographs come alive!
Prizes for best homemade Hat and Wig on the evening too.
Please come before 8.00pm as the Team Nice crew will be starting the distribution ceremony of at 8.00pm for the third batch of Niceties Tokens as they are set free into the world.

Piratey Jokes:

Costumes
should be Pirate based, with good Pirates, hairy pirates or better yet
sexeh Pirates. The Tattershall Castle is a floating pub with
five bars, nightclub and yer basic Pirate food; fish and chips. The
perfect place for Pirating London! With indoor and outdoor
refreshments whether it's a choppy garn or a milkpond, they sell Rum so
who cares.
The
Tattershall Castle pub is free to get on board and the main bars close
at 11pm. There is a nightclub on board open till 3am with £5 before
10pm and £7 for the rest of the night until 3am. If
there's any interest we
might do a small Thames floating pub crawl during the afternoon, ending
up at the Tattershall for 7.00pm. First choice on the
Tattershall is the Poop Deck if sunny or the Hold if rainy.
With
dubloons to be found, advanced Pirating classes (including
pronounciation and Pirating history) and sea shanties to be sung, it's
going to be great grand!
Closest tube is Embankment,
exit onto the Thames and head right under the Hungerford
Bridge. The Tattershall Castle is the SECOND floating pub
after the bridge.
